Steam time, when will it happen?

The time is drawing near!

Soon the steam store page will be launched and people will flood the gates to click that wonderfully elusive Wishlist button! As game developers, we hope that people will find our game interesting and fuel our game dev spirits so that we can give back even more of a fun and engaging game to you the players!

We will keep people updated on the development progress, all the way to the early access release that will happen as soon as the gameplay loop is playable. As with many other indie-games out there, we will utilize a lot of marketplace assets as placeholder graphics in these early stages, as we are putting more focus in to the fun part of gameplay experience.

Early Access

As hinted, we will release the game very early in development. Why? So that we can get as much direct and relevant feedback as possible when the game goes live. We are hoping to make this process as engaging and inclusive as possible with smaller weekly updates on the Discord-channel and on the various social media platforms. A roadmap will be posted as soon as possible and we will update it every month to show you all what we are working on. The updates will be posted on the Steam page and on the Homepage.

As of today, we are only two developers handling everything (which includes developing the game, fixing bugs, social media, running the company and taking care of our selves, no need to burn out too quickly) so we will do our very best, within reason, to keep up with development and communication. So will it be, until we are able to hire more people!

What kind of map is this? A Roadmap?

The all-mighty, overhyped and ever present roadmap. A lot of studios like to refer to having a road map. We will also have a roadmap, so very hype. Why? So that people can see what the aim of the game is and where the future might bring it. As mentioned earlier, the roadmap shall be updated monthly and posted here on the site as well.

At the moment and with the focus of Early Access in mind, the roadmap consists of:

  • Making the Gameplay loop actually loop
  • Basic UI work
  • Basic Sound design.
  • Optimization

After Early Access release:

  • Add a couple more entities, there should be a need to actually investigate.
  • Tweak gameplay and balancing
  • Add more maps to explore
  • Potential to add settings
  • And more amazing optimization

Might have gone a bit silly on the styling there, but that is the gist of what is happening now.

//Kind regards
The code goblin, Chris
